Are you using Google Earth content for non-business or individual use?
How many times have you wanted to use an image from Google
Earth, but didn’t know where to begin?
Print Google Earth images
Google makes a special agreement for Google Earth imagery that
is not allowed to be used with Google Business products. Please view details
about Google Image submission and usage policies below Google Maps and Google
Earth images may only be used in business environments. Images may not be
submitted if they are being used in residential, educational, government, or
any other personal environments (including websites, blogs, etc.).
Additionally, all Google Maps/Google Earth images must link back to Google
Maps/Google Earth so users can see where they are located on Google’s mapping
services and learn more about their context. Google Maps/Google Earth images
should not be cropped or resized unless it is necessary to improve legibility
of information contained within them. Google reserves the right to refuse
submissions of Google Maps/Google Earth images that do not comply with these
terms and conditions. If your request does not meet our image submission
guidelines, we will contact you by email and inform you of what needs to change
before your request can be processed further. We will also include information
about how you can appeal our decision if you feel it was made in error.

What Professionals Do
You can only print KML and KMZ files if they are hosted on
your own website. You cannot print KML/KMZ files from a Google site (like
Google Maps) to publish in a book, magazine, etc. To host your own KML/KMZ
file: 1. Upload it to Google Drive 2. Make sure that sharing is set to public
on the web 3. Download it as a ZIP file 4. Extract all of its contents 5.
Upload each of those files individually 6. Host them yourself 7. Embed them in
an HTML page 8. Publish that page 9. Print that page 10. Profit! For more

Maps on merchandise
We've had a few reports of people taking Google Maps data
and putting it on products that they sell. Google doesn't allow any kind of
commercial use of Google Maps (either desktop, online, mobile) without a
license. If your business is creating physical products (e.g., mugs, T-shirts)
that contain Google Maps and are for sale to consumers, you will need to obtain
permission from Google before producing those items and marketing them in any
way. You can submit an image to Google so we can determine whether it falls
under fair use by filling out our Image Submission Form. Google will review
your submission and get back to you with its decision within 30 days.
You should also be aware that Google may take action against
sites found to be infringing upon our Terms of Service, which could result in
disabling access to Google Maps API Services for such sites. If your site is
disabled by Google because it contains Google Maps without a license, you will
need to remove all instances of Google Maps from your site before we can restore
service. Please note that if your site was disabled due to an infringement
claim and then subsequently removed from Google's search results because it no
longer exists, we will not restore service automatically.
Maps in personal blogs
Printing any Google map is permitted solely for personal,
non-commercial reasons. However, printing a Google map from your personal site
isn’t allowed in all cases. You can check on whether it’s permitted to print a
Google map at Print Google Maps . If it’s not permitted, then Google won’t be
able to verify that you are authorized to print maps for non-business or
individual use. If that happens, we will block access to Google Earth and
Google Maps for your account until you remove any illegal prints of Google maps
from your website. Google reserves all rights under applicable copyright laws.
Google may change these policies from time to time without notice. Please
review our Terms of Service for more information about our policies regarding
user generated content (UGC).
Printing Google Maps from business apps
Google Maps APIs are free to use and developers can add
mapping capabilities to websites, mobile apps, and desktop software. For
example, Google Maps APIs enable restaurants to include interactive maps on
their websites so that users can find them. Some of these business apps will
have licensed Google Maps images in them, while others may not. If your app
uses Google Maps APIs, it is subject to certain usage restrictions (detailed
below). Please review these restrictions carefully before including Google Maps
APIs in your app. You must also agree to our Terms of Service and Copyright
policies before accessing or using Google Maps APIs. By clicking Accept below,
you represent that you have read and understand all terms governing access to
Google's products, services, web sites and APIs (Terms) and agree to be bound
by those Terms.
Can I create an app with Google Maps?
Google Maps APIs let you embed interactive maps in web
pages, mobile sites and native apps. You can also create a store to sell
merchandise (such as books, DVDs, clothing and toys), food or services. Learn
more about Google Maps Platform products. To distribute your app, you will need
to submit it to Google Play and/or other app stores that accept content developed
with Google Maps APIs. Google does not review Google Maps API Content prior to
publication on Google servers, but reserves the right to review such content
from time to time at its sole discretion. Google may remove any Google Maps API
Content from its servers at any time at its sole discretion.
Acceptable uses with Google Maps APIs
Google Maps APIs can be used for many great applications.
Examples include search engines, mapping mashups, local business finders, and
mobile applications (for example: driving directions). All uses of Google Maps
APIs must comply with our Terms of Service. Google provides a complete list of
acceptable uses. If your application is not on that list, it may not be covered
under Google’s terms of service. If your application is not on that list,
please contact us to discuss whether it would still qualify as an acceptable
use under Google’s terms of service. If we determine that your application is
not an acceptable use under Google’s terms of service, we will contact you and explain
why.
